                             LASTEST NEWS FROM FEBRUARY'S MEETING

Our February Dive Club Meeting was a complete success.  Our primary topic of discussion was how to help the “Wounded Warriors Project”.

Andy Harrison gave a great presentation on how our dive club can show support for those military members severely injured while protecting our freedoms.  A few ways to help are to donate your frequent flyer airline miles, hotel frequent stay points or restaurant gift cards.  These items will help the friends, family and loved ones extend their stay while the service member is receiving treatment far from home.  Please let us know if you would like to help.  We already have over 60,000 miles to donate!!!!

With unanimous support, it has been decided that one care package per month will be sent to a member or members of our military.  A box will be available at Carolina Divers each month for you to place your donation in.  Our monthly care package will be sent on the 15th of each month.  Useful care package items include:  magazines, books, DVDs, video games, chewing gum, hard candy, Crystal Light (or other flavorings for water), personal hygiene supplies, etc.  Please feel free to drop in and add your care items.  Additionally, if you have someone you would like a monthly care package to be sent to, please present their name and they will be added to our list.  We plan to send our first care package to members of our dive club that are currently deployed.

March 20th is set to be our next dive club meeting/event.  Although the weather will hopefully be much warmer by then, more than likely we still won’t be diving in our local waters.  To stave off our craving for diving a bit longer, we will be visiting the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher followed by a group dinner nearby.  Currently, we plan to meet at Carolina Divers at 1:00 PM.  It would be beneficial to know ahead of time how many plans to go and how many want to ride share.  Please mark your calendars for this event.

DO YOU HAVE A SPECIAL INTEREST OR ARE AN EXPERT IN A DIVE RELATED AREA?  We would love to have your input on things you are interested in or be a speaker at an upcoming meeting.

If you have any ideas for future meeting or speakers feel free to email Jon and share your ideas. Jon@carolinadivers-nc.com
