Jon Richmond

Jon has spent his entire life around water.  Growing up on a lake in West Virginia, Jon has always been interested in water related sports.  Fishing, swimming and diving have all been a part of growing up through the years.

Jon has since changed his childhood water sport hobbies into adult water sport hobbies such as opening a dive store, patrolling Topsail Island beaches with the Pender EMS Ocean Rescue program and by fighting fire with the Hampstead Fire Department where he also works as an Emergency Medical Responder. Jon was PADI certified in 1981 and has since crossed over to become a NAUI Instructor.

Jon has enjoyed diving in such places as Hawaii, California, Virgin Islands, Florida Keys and the coast of North Carolina as well as almost every lake in West Virginia.  Jon’s dive career was put on hold in order to allow for college.  He attended Marshall University in Huntington, WV and would later finish his BA degree at Mount Olive College in Wilmington, NC.

Aside from diving, Jon is very family oriented. Married to his wife Margaret for over 20 years, he is the father of two children.  Jon enjoys sharing his passion for being in the water with his family.

Captain Al Highsmith has been with us since the beginning. A very experienced captain and excellent diver who knows how to handle a boat and knows where the fish are. His 26' Sea Hawk makes for a comfortable ride without getting lost in the crowd.

My name is Captain John Glover. I am a USCG licensed Captain. I hold Red Cross certifications in First Aid, AED, and CPR. I am an active PADI certified SCUBA diver. I am from Topsail, North Carolina and have over 10 years of maritime experience.

My vessel is a 29’ C-Hawk with a 10’ beam. The vessel offers a smooth dry ride with plenty of room for gear storage and comfortable seating for all. My vessel has recently been refitted for maximum comfort and efficiency for the 2010 dive season. The safety and comfort of my passengers is of upmost concern to me. I look forward to diving with you soon.

“May the winds and seas stay calm, and the sun upon us.”

                Captain John Glover
